Workforce and Skills Development
The understanding of design thinking, and even the modern tools of manufacturing, such as additive processes, 3D printing and design, varies widely.
As businesses diversify, prototypes are developed, and new products and markets are explored, workers will need to develop the new skills and technological proficiencies they need. STEAM ENGINE USA is “mapping” the available curriculum and skills training at RI and New England colleges, universities and other community partners, and working to fill the gaps in workforce training and skills development for the next generation of manufacturing excellence.
Once training opportunities are gathered, STEAM ENGINE USA will promote their availability to manufacturers and others. We are also working to identify where curriculum gaps exist and support the development of content or curriculum with partners.
