Design Readiness Assessment
A Design Readiness Assessment (DRA) lays the groundwork for innovation by analyzing a manufacturer’s opportunity to enhance existing products and launch new efforts.
In the pilot, 20 manufacturers will get access to a service provider network and be given recommendations for new product development, business diversification, lean systems integration and/or skills development.
The DRA framework looks at roughly two dozen category areas – including product portfolio, equipment capacity, and upstream and downstream supply chain dependence. It is the first step in diversifying product lines and production, and is conducted by teams of experts convened by STEAM ENGINE USA.
